  eSports--Competitive Gaming meets Broadcast

Professional league video gaming has modeled itself after real-world physical sports. With a league structure, match commentary, player profiles and sponsored merchandize, eSports resembles the traditional broadcast sports model - with a few twists.
Join SMPTE for a look at the anatomy of eSports - the technology that drives it, how it differs from traditional sports broadcasts, where tech is headed, and where the jobs are. Presenters include media professionals from Blizzard’s Overwatch and H1Z1 Pro League.

Not a gamer? Check out the H1Z1 Pro League by clicking here.

Our featured speaker, H1Z1 Pro League's live program director Cameron Reed, began directing live, multicamera shoots in 2014. His work has aired on ESPN2, The NFL Network, DisneyXD and on the leading digital platforms including Twitch, Youtube and Hulu. Reed holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Fullerton

Joining Cameron are Michael Little, CTO Artistic Resources Corp, SMPTE member and system architect for H1PL’s 84 camera fly pack, Jose Soriano, veteran technical director for Blizzard Studio’s Overwatch, League of Legends and H1Z1, Matt Battaglia (EIC) and Bob Kertesz (VC) from H1PL, and Josh Rizzo, VP Technology, 24P Dailies Lab, Beechwood Service (SPE).
