Brilliant Macro Attachment Lenses - Demo Reel

Dwight Lindsey

We have a new short demo reel of images shot with a Canon Compact-Servo 70-200 and our Brilliant Macro attachment lenses:

https://vimeo.com/274746561

Many of these shots were made with two of our Brilliant Macro lenses stacked on the front of the Compact Servo 70-200 for a +5 diopter macro.  The image quality is still terrific, even when the lenses are stacked.

Focus is held during zoom.

Feel free to download the reel and examine it however you wish.  Large monitors recommended!

More details about the Brilliant Macro lenses on our website:

Base lens compatibility guide:
http://www.lindseyoptics.com/content/Brilliant%20Macro%20Lens%20Compatibility%20sheet.pdf

That list is what we knew as of April 1, 2018.  Our Brilliant Macro lenses will work with many other lenses, including the amazing Fujinon 85-300 (we work from 120 - 300 with that lens)

If I can answer any questions, you can ask them here or email me directly.

Hey Dwight,
this is Tobi Jall from Berlin, Germany. I have a shoot coming up where the subject is technical elements with laser cut structurs
down to 10th of a millimeter and even µm!
Was looking at your beautiful jewelry video and maybe you can help me out here. We will be shooting in a running production environment, so we can not get as close up
to the subjects as we want. Is there any of your products that I could use or combine with something like a 300 mm lens?
And, most important, does any rental in Germany carry your lenses?

Thanks a lot,
best regards,
Tobi

Hi Tobi,

Just finished some macro work. We filled the frame with a drop coming out of a needle.
Used 100mm macro with extension tubes from Duclos FYI. Worked really nice and you get the macro’s sharpness, rather than going to a microscope attachment. If that’s close enough for you...

Hi Tobi:

Our Brilliant Macro attachments work beautifully on the Fujinon 85-200 zoom, from about 120mm to 300mm.  They also work beautifully on Zeiss and Canon 70-200mm with a working distance of approximately 180mm.

We don’t have any in rental in Europe right now.

We do have several demo sets in Europe at the moment that are available for sale at dramatic discount . . . so you could encourage your favorite rental house to purchase a set . . .

Dwight

Arri have a 200mm Macro lens, if you think that’s long enough.

If budget is an issue I’ve got a Canon FD 200mm Macro converted to EF plus extension tubes you’re welcome to borrow (I’m out in Charlottenburg, near Olympiastadion).

Hello Tobi,

Since it seems that you will be some distance from your subject, which is quite small at 1/10 of a millimeter.  Have you considered diopters?  With a 300mm lens and a set of diopters, you can control how close the focus can be moved by stacking them.  If a person is 7 feet away (sorry I’m American so think in inches/feet) and is wearing small jewelry, you can move the close focus on a 300mm lens to be closer to the camera plane.  This means the person can now be 3 to 4 feet from the camera (or closer) instead of further away, making it easier to get a CU or XCU of the jewelry without getting in the way of the running production.  The only thing with diopters is that they reduce exposure so you would have to compensate with more light, etc.

Best regards,

__________
