DIT workflow survey
Daniel Klockenkemper
A software developer I know is working on an application for the film industry, and would like to survey DITs about their workflow and the software they use. Though they're focused primarily on narrative/scripted production, they'd like to hear from as broad a cross-section as possible. If you wouldn't mind answering a few questions via email, please contact me off list. Regards, Daniel Klockenkemper Cinematographer Los Angeles area

It’s easy to set up a poll on cml.news if you want.

The place to do that survey is where the DIT’s are, ie. their Facebook Groups:
That first group seems to be the busier group … 1,440 members: Those are working DIT’s, NOT Dp’s that simply do their own downloading and don’t fully understanding and/or respect what a top professional DIT does. Many productions do not have the budget for proper DIT. THIS is a Downloading Station, not a DIT Station. These are DIT Stations: Ultimate size reduction, mobile DIT on the Revenant DIT remote Iris, on The Revenant, using False Color makofoto, friend of DIT’s, s. pasadena, ca

Daniel,
toggle quoted message. . .
I teach Cinematography and will be structuring a workshop on the job of the DIT and their workflow. Can we make their responses public so we can all benefit? Marty
