Updated and additional ACES LUTs

Geoff Boyle

I’ve just added a package of reduced contrast ACES LUTs to the original web page

These have contrast reduced to 0.85 which is my preferred way of working.

I’ll get the contrast in there with lighting! I was a fan of Agfa XTR250, Fuji 400 & Kodak ’87 & ‘77

I’ve also updated the regular contrast ACES LUTs to correct some small errors in the Canon 2020 LUT’s

Once again I’d like to stress that these are onset monitoring LUTs and are not for post use.

Oh and BTW, you may want to try the canon Clog2 LUTs on Alexa output, it may not be “correct” but the skin tones are amazing!!

Cheers

Just to add, the effect of the reduced contrast LUT can be reproduced in post by applying contrast of 0.85 in ACEScct, with a pivot of 0.435 (445) which is the default in ACES in both Resolve and Baselight. You could also use an ASC-CDL grade (again in ACEScct) with Slope of 0.85 and Offset of 0.06525.
