Wave-Freefly Hi Speed Camera
I agree 100% with Alister: the frames are too small to judge (😃) but my initial assumption would be that it’s fixed pattern noise. Most cameras address this with a black balance. If that’s not an opti

Further experiments with the G12
I think you should be able to resolve this by using the right quicktime tags on export. This guide is useful: https://www.thepostprocess.com/2020/07/17/color-on-mac-displays-from-davinci-resolve-to-th

Surely that’s due to a loss in resolution? Even if after processing it appears to be a loss of colour resolution. It certainly looks like the sort of aliasing you get with cameras that ‘pixel group’ t

One would assume that the monochromatic pixels hit saturation before the coloured sensels do so it might not be too surprising that the camera appears to lose resolution once they have, no? Colin Elve

ProRes "RAW"?
Hi Matt, A couple of quick questions: 1. is the 12bit Raw log encoded or linear? 2. Can the S1H record internally while also outputting Raw? Thanks! Colin Elves DP, Berlin

Canon C300mk3 and R5 announcement.
Although looks like there might be some funny noise in the reds when shooting slowmo. Noisy reds Seemed to be a thing on the C200 as I recall.

Canon C300mk3 and R5 announcement.
I must admit, I’m intrigued by the dual gain architecture available on the C300mk3 - a stop and a half extra DR on the C500mk2 would put it in line with the Alexa, no? According to this ‘hands-on’ rev

Panasonic S1H experience Contd.
I believe the AG Dok crowd did a big test at the beginning of the week including the S1H and the EVA1. So they are worth contacting. I know Cristopher Rowe was involved and occasionally posts on here.

I don’t fully understand why BMD designed the camera without an OLPF. You guys seem to manufacturer them so cheaply it can’t have added too much to the cost. Colin Elves Director of Photography Berlin

Sigh… Sorry about the bad headers thing. That’s an annoying interaction between my iphone and my mail server that happens when I reply to long email chains. I’ve yet to find out why it happens or how

Yes - exactly that. I posted previously (it was rushed and had a few problems) and people felt the green would influence colour perception too much so I keyed it out. As for F: it is indeed in focus.
