David Hollander

Hi there
I am looking for the ST-1 Intervalometer with cable or just the cable for the Leicina Special.
I am also looking for the Endoscope attachment for the Leicina Special.
Thanks in advance

I made an intervalometer for a friend who has a Leicina Special. its not that hard to do. I have several Specials and ST-1 controllers but we could not find one for my friend so that is why I made one.

the pinouts and electronics are in the Pdf documents online

I bought a Velleman interval timer from the internet with two period control. The timer I chose, Velleman MK111, allowed me to vary the exposure time as well as the interval time with the way I connected the relay to the camera.. I replaced the Pulse and Pause pots with bigger ones and put them on the outside of the hobby box. I made a connector to the camera 9 way socket with my CNC Mill and used PCB solder pins for to go into the sockets. I can send photos but really its not all that difficult. You can use batteries or as I did, get a mini DC to DC converter from Banggood and run it from a camera battery.

Have fun

Hi John
Thanks for this.  I had considered making something but the 9 pin plug looked like beyond my capabilities and I also read somewhere online that the pinouts as described in the manual you sent were wrong (!) from Leica so I instead offered someone renting an ST-1 money to buy it and the cable and he agreed.  I then located another sans cable still in the original plastic in the box.  When it rains it pours!
I am looking for some other accessories though for an upcoming project:
Whatever part came from Leica to attach the Special to a microscope
The Arri bayonet adapter
The electronic switch/cable that works with the universal hand grip
The mechanical switch/cable that works with the universal hand grip
The Endoscope which can be seen in the attached brochure
If you have a line on any of the above, I have cash or trade to offer.
Thanks again

HI David
I found no problem with the nine pin socket. For shutter release just bridge pins 1 and 8. Solder pins for a DIY PCB fit nicely into the sockets of the nine pin socket on top and the spaces match up with the PCB holes. That works for Run, 1 Single Frame and T Time Exposure. Shutter speed times are in the book.... 210-32a/Engl and 210-25 a/Engl available online.
FYI these work.
Terminal 7 + 8 = external supply
Terminal 1 + 8 = remote release
Terminal 2 + 8 = flash synch
Terminal 3 + 8 = synchro-impulse
Terminal 1 + 8 = magnetic tape start
You can also operate the shutter with the ST-1 as I remember.
Unfortunately I cannot sell the other attachments that you have. Ebay is about your only hope really but you know that. Leica second hand dealers are a vanishing race now. I'll have a look up in town (London) tomorrow there's a few left up there. Richard Caplan often has a few attachments and they are good friends so I'll see them too. Meantime you can see here. He has his finger on the pulse of Leica odds and ends so let's see what he says.
